Match Report: Friends' School Lisburn 29-47 Bangor Grammar School
Friends' School Lisburn vs Bangor Grammar School
Bangor Grammar School enjoyed a successful trip to Lisburn last Saturday, where they faced Friends' School.
The match was unusual in that no spectators were allowed into the ground due to concurrent AQE examinations.
In the opening twenty minutes, the hosts took advantage of Bangor indiscipline in the breakdown to build a 9-0 lead from three Reece Malone penalties.
Aaron Sexton had recovered from concussion to make only his third start of the season. The speedy winger scored Bangor's first try, which was converted by Rhys Larmour.
Just before half time, Conor Lusty recorded his 11th touchdown of the season. Larmour's conversion was enough to give Bangor Grammar a 14-12 half-time lead.
In the second half, Bangor controlled the match, and were absolutely ruthless taking their chances. Tries followed for Oliver Hamilton, Riley Westwood, Ben McCrossan (x2) and a second for Sexton. Larmour's final conversion tally was 6 from 7.
Friends' scored two late tries, courtesy of Max Gillespie and Stuart Patterson, but a comeback never really looked on the cards.
