Highlights of the 2019 Danske Bank Subsidiary Shield final from The Dub in Belfast where Bangor Grammar School faced Sullivan Upper School.

Extended highlights of the 2019 Danske Bank Subsidiary Shield final between Sullivan Upper School of Holywood and Bangor Grammar School. This would be Bangor Grammar's fourth Subsidiary Shield final appearance. In 1984 they shared the title with Belfast High School after a nine all draw. Five years later, Bangor Grammar won outright by beating Coleraine Academical Institution 9-3. After losing out by 26 points to 3 in the 1999 final to Royal Armagh, Bangor Grammar again made the final in 2011. Unfortunately this also ended in defeat, as Ballymena left with a 33-5 victory. Sullivan's only previous Subsidiary Shield final appearance came in 1980, as they beat Down High School by three points. Both teams met in a friendly earlier this season. Sullivan, with home advantage, came out on top by a scoreline of 33-10. These two teams are historically the two most successful sides in North Down. This rivalry between both schools extends far beyond the boundaries of the rugby pitch. Highlights from the semi final of the Danske Bank Subsidiary Shield where Bangor Grammar School and Dalraida School battle for a place in the final.

Extended highlights as Bangor Grammar School continue their 2019 Danske Bank Subsidiary Shield campaign in the semi final at home to Dalriada School of Ballymoney. These teams reignite a fiercely competitive rivalry in recent years. In the 2012 Schools' Cup 4th Round, BGS won 11-5 away for a place in the quarter final. 2 seasons later, Bangor Grammar were denied a place in the Subsidiary Shield final after a 20-0 defeat to Dalriada. The following year, these teams met in the Schools' Cup again, this time at Gransha Road, where Bangor won 26-15. In 2016 they met again in Ballymoney, and Dalriada won 17-5, preventing Bangor from reaching a memorable cup semi final at Ravenhill. Over the past ten years, Dalriada have been Bangor's most frequent opposition in competitive fixtures, and more often than not, a thorn in Bangor's side. This match would be the perfect opportunity to avenge those previous defeats. A place in the Subsidiary Shield final awaits the winners.
